Jesse M. O’Brien

Professor

I started training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2016 after being introduced to its fundamentals while attending the police academy. I quickly developed a passion for the art and have made it a central part of my life ever since.

I’m also a retired law enforcement officer and former Lead Defensive Tactics Instructor. I spent years teaching officers how to apply effective, practical grappling techniques under pressure. That same emphasis on technical precision, control, respect for others, and composure in high-stress situations carries over into every class I teach.

For me, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has been far more than a sport. It has been a source of purpose, personal growth, and stability through life’s challenges. My goal is to help every student, whether training for competition, self-defense, or personal development becoming the best version of themselves, both on and off the mats.
